FRIENDS OF THE CLINIC
The Central Speech and Hearing Clinic values the support of so many committed sponsors and friends in the community. We take time to thank a few . . .

The Elks and Royal Purple
The gentlemen and ladies of the Elks & Royal Purple continue to provide their support of our Clinic’s programs. Once again, for 2008, The Elks & Royal Purple Fund for Children donated $11,000 to our Clinic. The Elks & Royal Purple Auditory-Verbal Fund, an annual fund of $5000, was established in 1992 has provided $81,250 over the years for families to purchase equipment or other supplies associated with having a hearing loss. The fund has also contributed to various equipment purchases and since 2005 has donated $6000 annually for our Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program.
The Manitoba Elks Foundation has contributed $64,900 to the Clinic since 1994. The donations have been used to purchase various pieces of equipment or furniture. The $5000 donation we received for 2008 was used to purchase two – four drawer lateral filing cabinets, a projector stand, a library cabinet and assessment materials.
The Elks Lodge #10 in Winnipeg donated $1000 to the Clinic in June, 2008 and then surprised us with another $1000 in December to help complete the VOICE “Garden of Sound”. Another surprise came in April 2009 when the Elks Lodge #10 donated to our annual Golf Tournament.
The funds donated to the Clinic are generated from the volunteer efforts of the men and women of the Elks and Royal Purple. Their continued support has helped define and make the Clinic what it is today. We value their support both financial and moral. Thank You. We Salute You.
The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation
The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation and the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club have donated over $132,000 since we first began working together in 1998. The Foundation has helped our Clinic purchase a Platinum Series Speech Processor and accessories, a cochlear implant computer system, loaner hearing aids, a video camera, a hearing aid analyzer and most recently in September 2008 the Foundation donated funds to complete the “VOICE” Garden of Sound. The CSHC is one of many charities that has been supported by the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation and the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club. We offer these members a sincere thanks for their dedication and commitment to children and for “helping to give our children” a voice”.
Mrs. Paula Lane and the Kostick Family
A sincere thank you is extended to these two families for their generous support in helping us to furnish and equip the Cochlear Americas Programming Room. A donation was made “In Loving memory of Mrs. Paula Lane, Great Aunt of Jack Kostick”. The Kostick Family has been a major supporter of the Clinic since Jack was first diagnosed with a hearing loss ten years ago. We are sincerely grateful for their financial and moral support over the past ten years.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
In June 2007, the Clinic was presented with a cheque for $30,000. The funds were used to purchase equipment for our hearing aid and cochlear implant lending program. CSHC lends hearing aids to children newly diagnosed with a hearing loss. Once audiological testing has been completed and the loss is determined, then the family can order the right hearing aids for their child. This donation was timely as the Clinic’s hearing aid loaning equipment had become outdated. In addition, when a cochlear implant breaks down and needs to be sent for repair, the Clinic is able to lend the child a “loaner” speech processor. In this way, the child is still able to access sound until his/her equipment is back from repair.
Thank you RMHC for helping us give our loved ones the very best technology to assist them in “listening, hearing and speaking”.
The Thomas Sill Foundation
The Thomas Sill Foundation has been a generous supporter of our Clinic over the past number of years. In 1990, the foundation provided funding assistance in the amount of $28,000 so the Clinic could purchase a hearing aid analyzer. Fifteen years later, in June 2005, the foundation contributed $10,000 to help the Clinic fund its relocation. Most recently in February 2008, the Thomas Sill Foundation once again made a generous donation to the Clinic. The foundation provided over 412,000 for the purchase of loaner hearing aids and cochlear implant equipment for the Clinic’s Loaner Lending Library. The Board of Directors, Staff, adults in the Cochlear Implant Program and the children and their families thank the Foundation for considering the Clinic in its funding allocations. Thank you for the confidence you have expressed in our Clinic’s program.
A Happy Holiday Surprise
What a pleasant surprise!!!! Just before the Holiday Season of 2008 was to begin the Clinic received two donations. The Meyers Norris Penny LLP Social Committee donated $467.00 to the Clinic. Meyers Norris Penny have been the Clinic’s accountants for many years.
Tom Powell Design Studio through their “Tom Powell’s Loonieville” program donated $200.00 to the Clinic. Tom Powell Design have been long time Clinic supporters and have designed the Clinic letterhead and various promotional materials since the early nineties.
Thank You to both organizations for thinking of us. Your support is truly valued.
